Zacharias Vamvakousis // CEO

Zacharias is the developer and designer of the EyeHarp. He studied Computer Science & Telecommunications at University of Athens. At Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Zacharias obtained a Master’s degree in Sound and Music Computing, and earned a PhD for his research: “Digital Musical Instruments for People with Physical Disabilities”. He is also an accordion player with a degree in classical accordion.

Gil Dori // Creative

Gil is a composer, sound designer, and music teacher. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University. Gil creates sounds and transcribes songs for the EyeHarp repertoire. He also helps with EyeHarp lessons and with developing educational aspects.

Panos Kontaxis // Digital Marketing

Panos contributes in the areas of digital marketing, social media, and SEO analysis. He obtained a Master’s degree in International Business Administration at Autonomous University of Barcelona, and he works as a digital marketing manager. Panos helps with promoting the EyeHarp online, and expanding the worldwide EyeHarp community.

Anna Martínez // Communication

With a postgraduate degree in communication from Pompeu Fabra University, and a Marketing Management program at Esade, Anna has been dedicated to communication, marketing, and sales for over 20 years. She wants to position the Eyeharp as an inclusive and educational digital instrument, and maximize its social impact worldwide

Jordo Bueno // Public Relations

Jordi studied labor relation at Barcelona University. He has been helping a lot in promoting the EyeHarp to music schools and other organizations. Jordi is the father of Joel, the first EyeHarp student in the public music school of Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Barcelona.


Rafael Ramirez // Mentor – Scientific Advisor

Rafael Ramirez. PhD, MSc, BSc. Tenured Associate Professor and Leader of the Music and Machine Learning Lab at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

George Chondrakis // Mentor – Business Advisor

Assistant professor of Strategic Management at ESADE Business School. International research fellow at University of Oxford. PhD from the Said Business School, University of Oxford.

Fotis Kalafatis // Programmer and Designer

Fotis is a a software developer and a graphic and UI/UX designer. Fotis studied Computer Science at the University of Athens. He is the co-founder of Titroo, a health and fitness app, and he develops tools for automating medical processes. Fotis is deeply passionate about making pleasant experiences for the user, and his work ranges from the technical to the artistic.


Alper Kaya // Izmir, Turkey

Alper is the best EyeHarp player in the world! He was diagnosed with ALS. Before his disease progressed, he was a guitar player. As an experienced musician, the feedback he provides on the EyeHarp contributes a lot to the project. His music performances prove again and again that it is possible to perform music at the highest level with the EyeHarp. Alper’s YouTube channel

Joel Bueno // Barcelona, Spain

Joel is the youngest EyeHarp player. Since 2017, he has been taking EyeHarp lessons at the Escola Municipal de Música i Dansain Santa Perpètua de Mogoda. Joel enjoys the most playing the F.C. Barcelona Anthem, as well as rocking out with his brothers.

Stelios Pissis // Limassol, Cyprus

Stelios is an accomplished composer, with five albums of his music published. He was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at a young age, which prevented him from playing the piano, his instrument since childhood. Nevertheless, Stelios led a prolific composition career, fueled by his love and passion for music. He was not able to play any instrument since 1993, until he began playing the EyeHarp in 2018. Stelios’ website (Greek)
